What Task Tree is
Task Tree is a free web tool for building work breakdown structures (projects, deliverables, work packages and activities) with hours, assignees and status. It runs entirely in your web browser.
What we collect
Nothing. Task Tree has no user accounts, no database and no analytics. The website only delivers the app itself; your work is never sent to our server.
Where your work is stored
- Files you open or save stay where you keep them: on your computer, a synced folder, a NAS, or your Google Drive.
- Unsaved work and preferences (open files, keyboard shortcuts, recent files) are kept in your own browser's local storage so they can be restored. You can clear them by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Google Drive
If you choose Open from Google Drive or Save to Google Drive, you sign in with Google and grant the app the drive.file permission. This lets Task Tree see and change only the files you open with it or create with it, never the rest of your Drive. The files travel directly between your browser and Google; they do not pass through our server.
- The sign-in token is kept in your browser's memory only and expires automatically.
- We read your name or email from Google only to show who changed what when several people edit the same file.
- Who can open a file is decided by its sharing settings in Google Drive.
- You can remove the app's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Task Tree's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Sharing with others
We do not sell, share or transfer any data. We have none.
